Break these bonds
Set me free!
After being snow shoveled into the booking room, Morticia had her eyes shut and was still reciting her spell. Margie returned with the actual warrant and attempted to read it to Morticia, but Morticia would not stop chanting. The two officers that had assisted Margie shook their heads.
âSheâs been doing this the whole time. We canât get her to stop.â
Margie attempted to read over Morticiaâs chanting, to no avail and finally shouted, âHey! Youâre free to go!â
Morticia instantly stopped chanting and opened her eyes. With Morticia silent, Margie was finally able to explain.
âI apologize, but thereâs a signed stamp from the Court Commissionerâs office on your warrant that says âdismissed.â Someone probably forgot to take it out of the cabinet, so you were correct maâam, and youâre free to go.â
âNow that Iâve broken my bonds, take me to Scotty C.,â Morticia commanded.
After falsely arresting Morticia, a much nicer Margie said, âI tried to get her down here, but sheâs not at the station. I donât know where sheâs at, but it is lunchtime. Maybe you should try back after one oâclock. Is there someone else that could help you?â
Morticia defiantly threw her head back with her nose in the air. âNo! Youâve done quite enough, Constable!â
Morticia was escorted back to the front desk area where she had originally been, and Margie returned to her desk behind the glass. Morticia opened the exit door and left, while Margie returned to her report writing. All was nice and quiet again until Margie looked up from her work once again.
âJesus!â Margie shouted as she again flinched. âI thought you left?â
Morticia had materialized in front of the divider glass once again. Morticia did not speak to Margie but instead was mumbling incomprehensible words as she dipped her finger in a container that resembled Carmex. Morticia used her greasy finger to smear an odd symbol on the divider glass.
âMaâamâ¦youâre pushing it! You need to leave before you really do get arrested!â Margie warned her.
Morticia said, âScotty shall remain safe here,â then slowly walked off and left the building. Margie loudly exhaled and grabbed a bottle of Windex and some paper towels.
